New books

Today marks a great day, with my New Years Resolution being to not buy any more recipe books until I have a clear out of some of the old ones I have, I can gratefully say I have acheived this. I donated about 10 - 15 old recipe books I wasn't interested in to Cancer Research and I have finally got a new book. I can add this one to my Baking Roulette but it's full of so many yummy ideas that I want to make them all!

I had a quick look through the book before I bought it but now I've had a better look I've found that it not only gives ideas on what to make but it even tells you about different teas and how to brew a good cuppa. My problem is that I don't like tea, I'm coffee all the way, but I'm sure half my family would love a look through.

It ranges from cookies, biscuits, cakes, cupcakes, scones, parkin, you name it, it's probably in here. I have a feeling I'm going to like this book very muchly.

The other thing I got was a book on fondant models. I know there's the internet for inspiration and advise but I always prefer to have a book.

This not only gives 100 fondant models but at the beginning to tells you about the different equipement, different types of icing, how to make a cake and basically how to do all the other parts to cake decorating, before you start making your model. Be prepared to see some fondant modelling practice here soon! =)
